When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Felix is suffering from Pneumonia and Malaria. Pneumonia develops when the defensive mechanisms within the lung become overwhelmed by a pathogen which has been either inhaled or aspirated. It is associated with a high mortality rate and significant morbidity. Severe pneumonia is frequently a multisystem disease and patients will often present with multiple organ failure. Malaria is a potentially life-threatening infectious disease caused by parasites transmitted to humans through the bite of infected female mosquitoes. The infection causes recurrent cycles of symptoms, including high fever, chills, fatigue, and, in severe cases, organ damage or failure.This stage of the disease is defined by the evidence of vital organ dysfunction.

Background
Felix is a 14-year-old boy living with his grandmother, a widow. His mother, a single parent, left for the city years ago in search of work, and they have not heard from her since. They live in impoverished conditions, often lacking enough blankets to stay warm at night. To provide food, his grandmother works on nearby farms, but when there's no work available, they go hungry. Recently, Felix suffered from diarrhea, vomiting, and a fever for 3-4 days. His grandmother took him to a government hospital, but they were unable to afford the treatment.
Medical history
Recently, Felix experienced severe diarrhea, vomiting, and a high fever lasting 3 to 4 days. His grandmother rushed him to a government hospital, but they could not afford the treatment costs. Thankfully, Helpster Charity Foundation stepped in to provide urgent medical support. Felix was diagnosed with severe malaria and pneumonia and was immediately started on a three-day course of antimalarials, IV fluids, and antibiotics. After close monitoring and follow-up care, he showed significant improvement, and a final checkup confirmed his full recovery. Overwhelmed with relief, Felix’s grandmother expressed her deep gratitude, saying, "Thank you so much - may God bless you for being there for my grandchild. I had lost hope before I learned of the noble assistance from Helpster Charity."
Prognosis
Pneumonia should be treated with antibiotics. If left untreated, pneumonia may lead to the permanent lung damage, respiratory failure, septicaemia (infection entering blood stream and causing sepsis), pleural effusion (accumulation of fluid in the space between the lung and chest wall, which can make breathing difficult), and other life-threatening complications. Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
