Munkaika Mohd is a quiet 13-year-old from a large, low-income farming family who dreams of becoming an engineer. His family’s irregular income and limited access to clean water make it difficult to manage his ongoing health struggles. These medical issues have caused him to miss school, placing a heavy emotional and financial burden on his hardworking parents. He was apparently well until 3 weeks ago when he was presented to a nearby facility with the complaint left flank pain, occasional hematuria and difficulty urinating. He was given some medication and was asked to take adequate fluid. Symptoms were intermittent but progressively worsened since yesterday, he went back to same facility where he was evaluated to have Left Kidney calculus and surgery advised but due to lack of funds ,he was referred to us for treatment. Diagnosis of Left Kidney Stone and Planned for surgery upon approval by Helpster charity foundation.

Munkaila,a 13year-old boy, presented with a history of right loin pain,dysuria,lower back pain accompanied by hematuria. After thorough evaluation and investigation, he was diagnosed Kidney stone.He underwent successful surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, he was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care. Munkaila recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, he is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed his regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team.

Munkaira is suffering from Kidney stone which cause intense flank pain and sometimes blood in the urine, disrupting daily life. This leads to recurrent episodes of severe flank pain that may radiate toward the lower abdomen, along with occasional blood in the urine due to irritation of the urinary tract. As the stone intermittently obstructs urine flow, it causes progressive pressure build-up within the kidney, leading to swelling and gradual damage to renal tissue. if left untreated, they can lead to severe infections, blocked urine flow, and long-term kidney damage. Removal of the kidney stone is the best treatment option at this point due to the size of the stone, which is too large to pass through the urethra. The surgery is expected to have a good prognosis if done early.
