Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections
Severe malaria is a life-threatening form of malaria with high parasite levels, causing complications such as anemia, impaired consciousness, respiratory distress, or organ dysfunction, requiring urgent treatment. Severe pneumonia with bronchospasms is a serious lung infection causing inflammation and narrowing of the airways, leading to cough, difficulty breathing, wheezing, chest in-drawing, and reduced oxygen levels.

Background
Powel is the first-born and only child, living with his mother, two cousins, and grandmother in a one-bedroom mud-walled house without electricity. His grandmother is elderly, leaving his mother to provide for the family through casual jobs, which offer very limited income. According to his mother, Powel had been unwell for three days before being brought to the hospital. He developed cough, runny nose, wheezing, headache, and lethargy. The wheezing became severe, with noticeable difficulty in breathing, fast breathing, and visible chest in-drawing, causing significant distress and making him restless and uncomfortable. He would frequently touch his head and cry, appearing very unwell. His mother initially gave him leftover paracetamol syrup at home, but there was no improvement, prompting her to seek medical care. She had learned about Helpster Charity during a previous visit when she brought Powel to the hospital for routine vaccination.
Medical history
POWEL WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE PNEUMONIA AND SEVERE MALARIA, WAS MANAGED WITH ANTIPYRETICS, ANTIMALARIALS AND OTHER DRUGS AS PER THE MEDICAL REPORT. HE RESPONDED SO WELL TO THE CARE AND MANAGEMENT HE WAS GIVEN AND HIS CONDITION IMPROVED. HE WAS THEN DISCHARGED HOME ON ORAL MEDICATIONS TO COMPLETE AT HOME.
Prognosis
Powel is critically ill with severe malaria and severe pneumonia with bronchospasms, both of which can rapidly compromise breathing and overall health. Immediate treatment with antimalarials, antibiotics, bronchodilators, and supportive care is essential. With prompt and adequate management, he is likely to improve. Close monitoring is required to prevent complications such as respiratory failure. The prognosis is cautiously good.
