Upomala Khatun is a caring and devoted 30-year-old mother who always puts the needs of her family before her own and dreams of safely welcoming her third child into the world. She lives with her husband and their two young daughters, Mashfiya and Morium, while her husband is the only earning member, working as a hotel waiter with a monthly income of only BDT 4,000, making it impossible for the family to afford the cost of the emergency treatment she urgently needs. Doctors have found that her pregnancy has continued beyond the expected due date, placing both mother and baby at high risk, and without timely treatment, they could face serious, potentially life-threatening complications, including fetal distress, lack of oxygen to the baby, prolonged or obstructed labor, severe bleeding, stillbirth, or loss of the mother's life. Upomala Khatun was admitted to the hospital on 13 April 2026 with a post-dated pregnancy requiring a safe delivery. Based on the doctor's assessment, she successfully underwent a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS), resulting in the safe delivery of a healthy baby. She received postoperative medicines, antibiotics, and supportive care, and both mother and baby recovered well during their hospital stay. Upomala was discharged in stable condition on 16 April 2026, and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, its volunteers, and the medical team for making the safe delivery possible.

The doctors have recommended a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) to ensure the safe delivery of Upomala Khatun’s baby and to protect both mother and child. With timely surgical intervention and proper medical care, there is a high chance of a safe delivery, allowing Upomala to recover gradually and care for her newborn and family. This planned procedure will help reduce the risks associated with post-dated pregnancy, ensuring that the baby is delivered safely and remains stable. However, if appropriate treatment and delivery management are not provided, serious complications may arise, including fetal distress, reduced placental function, prolonged or obstructed labor, and other delivery-related risks. In severe cases, these complications can become life-threatening for both the mother and the baby.
