Ruma Akhter, a 29-year-old woman who is 38 weeks pregnant, has been diagnosed with breech presentation and anemia. Breech presentation means the baby is positioned feet or buttocks first instead of the normal head-down position, making normal delivery risky and often requiring a C-section. She is also suffering from anemia, which has caused weakness and increased the risk of complications during delivery, requiring proper medical care for the safety of both mother and baby.

Background
Ruma Akhter, a 29-year-old pregnant mother, lives with her husband, two young sons, and elderly mother-in-law in a small tin-shaded house where her husband’s grocery shop income of only 7,000 BDT per month is barely enough to feed the family and cover daily expenses. Despite hardship, Ruma is a caring and devoted mother who spends her days looking after her children, elderly family member, and household with patience and love. During the final stage of pregnancy, she developed weakness and complications, and doctors later found that her baby is in a breech position along with anemia, placing both mother and child at serious risk. Her husband feels helpless because he cannot afford the medical care and possible emergency delivery needed while supporting the entire family alone. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Life Care Hospital staff, as without timely treatment, complications such as obstructed labor, severe bleeding, fetal distress, or even loss of the mother and baby may occur.
Medical history
Ruma Akhter was admitted to the hospital on 15/04/2026 at 38 weeks of pregnancy after doctors diagnosed her with breech presentation and anemia, which made normal delivery risky. Considering the possible complications, doctors performed a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS), and the operation was successfully completed, ensuring the safe delivery of her baby. After the surgery, Ruma Akhter received proper medical care, medications, and nutritional support, and both mother and baby gradually recovered in stable condition. She was discharged from the hospital on 18/04/2026 in improved health. Ruma Akhter and her family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Charity, its volunteers, and the medical team at Life Care Hospital for their valuable support and timely assistance in ensuring a safe delivery and the well-being of both mother and baby.
Prognosis
Doctors have recommended a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) along with supportive treatment to safely deliver Ruma Akhter’s baby and protect both mother and child. With timely surgery and proper medical care, a safe delivery is expected, allowing Ruma to recover gradually and care for her children and family. The procedure is necessary to reduce the risks associated with breech presentation and anemia. However, without timely medical intervention, complications during labor may seriously threaten the lives of both mother and baby.
