Shapla Khatun, a 37-year-old mother, lives with her husband, two sons, and elderly in-laws in a small tin-shed house with a mud floor, where her husband’s small grocery shop income of only 7,000 BDT per month is not enough to support the family or afford emergency medical treatment. She is a caring and hardworking woman who spends her days looking after her children and dependent elderly family members despite severe financial hardship. During her postdated pregnancy, she developed abdominal pain, weakness, and increasing complications that placed both her life and her unborn baby at serious risk. Her sons Safollo and Solaiman are deeply worried about their mother, while the family feels helpless due to poverty. They learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Shohel Sumon and sought support, as without timely LUCS surgery, complications such as fetal distress, obstructed labor, severe bleeding, or even death of the mother and baby may occur.

Shapla Khatun was admitted to the hospital on 15/04/2026 due to complications from a postdated pregnancy, which increased the risk of delayed labor and fetal distress. Considering these risks, doctors proceeded with a planned cesarean section (LUCS). The surgery was successfully performed, and a healthy baby was delivered safely. Following the operation, Shapla received appropriate post-operative care, including medications, antibiotics, and nutritional support. Both mother and baby remained stable and showed steady improvement during their hospital stay. Within a few days, Shapla was able to move comfortably and care for her newborn. She was discharged from the hospital on 18/04/2026 in good health. Shapla and her family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Charity, its volunteers, and the medical team for their compassionate support and timely intervention, which ensured a safe delivery and the well-being of both mother and child.

The doctors have recommended a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) to ensure the safe delivery of Shapla Khatun’s baby, as her postdated pregnancy increases the risk of complications. With timely surgical intervention and proper medical care, there is a high chance of a safe delivery, allowing Shapla to recover and care for her newborn and family. This planned procedure will help reduce risks such as fetal distress, prolonged labor, and complications related to delayed delivery. However, without proper treatment, serious complications may arise, which could become life-threatening for both the mother and the baby, making timely intervention essential.
