Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About eyes
Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) surgery is a procedure that creates a new drainage pathway for tears when the natural tear duct is blocked. This surgery is typically performed to relieve excessive tearing and discharge caused by a blocked nasolacrimal duct. DCR can be done through an external incision on the side of the nose or endoscopically through the nasal passages.

Background
Tahiya Jannat is a sweet and playful 2-year-old girl whose bright smile brings happiness to her family despite their difficult life. She lives with her parents and extended family in a small tin house where her father, Md. Rubel Hossain, earns only around 5,000 BDT per month from a village madrasha, making medical treatment impossible for the family to afford. Since birth, Tahiya has been suffering from painful eye problems with constant discharge, redness, and swelling, which have gradually worsened and affected her comfort and vision. After learning about Helpster Charity through volunteer Shamim Khan, her worried parents sought urgent help for her treatment and care. Without proper treatment, her eye condition may become more severe and could lead to serious complications and permanent damage to her eyesight.
Prognosis
According to the medical team at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital in Chandpur, Tahiya requires immediate DCR (Dacryocystorhinostomy) surgery in both eyes, to be performed sequentially within two months. The procedures will be conducted under the supervision of experienced specialists, Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant, and Dr. Rashedur Rahman Talukder, Senior Consultant. This treatment will eliminate her infections, restore proper tear drainage, and allow her to see the world clearly—giving her the opportunity to live a normal childhood. However, if left untreated, Tahiya’s condition may worsen significantly, leading to chronic infections and possible irreversible damage.
