Yeasin Arafat is a 5-year-old boy who lives with his parents, elder brother, and elderly grandparents in a small tin-made house in rural Chandpur. His father works as a farmer on other people's land and earns around BDT 9,000 per month, which is barely enough to support the family's daily needs, making the cost of eye surgery impossible to afford. Despite his visual impairment, Yeasin is a cheerful and affectionate child who dreams of going to school like his elder brother and enjoys spending time with his family. His parents became deeply concerned as his vision continued to worsen, leaving him increasingly dependent on others for everyday activities. According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant at the hospital, Yeasin urgently requires Cataract Surgery under General Anesthesia, along with implantation of a Secondary Intraocular Lens in both eyes. The doctor strongly believes that if the surgery is performed promptly, Yeasin has a high chance of regaining functional vision, allowing him to grow, learn, and live a normal life like other children. The total cost of the surgery and follow-up treatment is approximately BDT 81,000, which is far beyond the financial capacity of Yeasin’s family.
