Following admission at Yobe State Specialist Hospital, Gashua, the mother underwent an emergency Caesarean section (CS) due to prolonged obstructed labour. The baby was successfully delivered and closely monitored after birth because of the stress caused by the prolonged labour. With proper medical care and observation, the child responded well to treatment, remained stable, and gradually recovered without major complications. Both mother and child improved and were kept under observation until they were strong enough to continue recovery.

Jamila Audu, a 30-year-old woman, was admitted to Yobe State Specialist Hospital, Gashua with prolonged obstructed labor after experiencing labor pains for about 18 hours and rupture of membranes for 5 hours. Because of the life-threatening nature of her condition, she was scheduled for an emergency Caesarean section (CS) to safely deliver the baby and prevent complications. The prognosis is guarded but hopeful. This means the condition is serious and potentially life-threatening, but with timely surgical intervention, proper medical care, and close monitoring, the chances of survival and recovery for the mother are good. However, delay in treatment could increase the risk of complications such as infection, heavy bleeding, or injury to both mother and baby.
