Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pregnancy

Shirina Akter has been diagnosed with a 38-week single live pregnancy complicated by oligohydramnios, a condition where the amount of protective fluid around the baby is very low. This fluid is essential for the baby’s movement, growth, and oxygen supply, and reduced levels can place the baby under stress. She has also noticed decreased fetal movement, which is a warning sign that the baby may not be doing well inside the womb.

Thank you for saving this life!

Background

Shirina Aktar is a kind and caring 25-year-old pregnant mother who dreams of raising her children in a healthy and happy family despite living in poverty. Her husband, Forkan, works as a fisherman and earns only around 9,000 BDT per month, which is not enough to support the four-member family, including their young son Faisal and elderly mother Mumtaz, while also managing emergency medical expenses. During the final stage of her pregnancy, Shirina suddenly developed complications after her water broke early and she noticed reduced movement of her unborn baby, causing great fear and anxiety for the family. Doctors performed urgent tests and found low amniotic fluid with signs of fetal distress, making immediate medical care necessary to protect both mother and baby. Without timely treatment and proper delivery care, the condition could become life-threatening for the unborn child and place Shirina at serious risk, but the family is struggling financially and learned about Helpster Charity through a beneficiary.

Medical history

After experiencing labor pain for over 38 weeks and rupture of membrane for 2 days and less fetal movement for 10+ hours with previous history of 1 caesarean operation , she arrived at our hospital at 1.00 PM in 05 january 2026 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed amniotic fluid is very low with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful baby girl. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 08th january 2026. The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Prognosis

Doctors have recommended LUCS as the safest treatment option to manage Shirina’s pregnancy complication and deliver the baby without delay. With timely surgery, the baby can be born safely, and Shirina is expected to recover well with proper post-operative care. The procedure will prevent further stress on the baby caused by low amniotic fluid and reduced movement. If the surgery is not performed in time, the baby may suffer severe distress, lack of oxygen, or even loss of life, and the mother’s health could also be seriously endangered. Prompt intervention is crucial to protect both mother and child.
