Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Rofikul Islam Mumin, a 9-year-old student, lives with his parents, a younger sister with a disability, and a toddler brother in a low-income household where his father earns only 6,000 BDT per month as a truck driver's assistant, making it difficult to cover daily needs and medical expenses. Despite these challenges, Mumin is a quiet and determined child who continues his studies while supporting his family emotionally. He became seriously ill with high fever, abdominal pain, and urinary symptoms and was diagnosed with enteric fever with a urinary tract infection. His parents are deeply concerned but cannot afford the cost of treatment due to financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema and sought help, as without timely care, his condition may worsen into severe infection, complications, and life-threatening risk.

Medical history

Rofikul Islam Mumin was admitted to Seba Hospital on 16 April 2026 as a case ofEnteric fever with urinary tract infection (UTI). He received treatment under the supervision of a pediatrician, including regular supportive therapy and continuous monitoring by doctors and nurses. His condition gradually improved, and he was discharged on 20 April 2026 with medical advice for continued recovery at home. At the time of discharge, the patient’s family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Ema and the Seba Hospital team for their support and care.

Prognosis

With timely hospitalization, parenteral antibiotics, and supportive therapy, Rofikul Islam Mumin is expected to recover as the infections are controlled and his strength improves. Treatment will reduce fever, relieve symptoms, and prevent the spread of infection, allowing him to return to normal activities and continue his studies. With proper care and monitoring, he can achieve full recovery without long-term complications. However, if left untreated, enteric fever may lead to serious complications such as intestinal problems and severe infection, while the urinary tract infection may spread to the kidneys. This can cause prolonged illness and may become life-threatening. Therefore, timely medical care is essential for his recovery and safety.
