About urology
Kidney stone is a condition characterized by the formation of hard crystalline deposits within the kidneys due to the accumulation of mineral salts such as calcium, oxalate, or uric acid. These stones may remain within the kidney or travel into the urinary tract, where they can obstruct the normal flow of urine, leading to sudden and severe flank pain that may radiate to the lower abdomen or groin. The condition is often associated with episodes of nausea, vomiting, painful or frequent urination, and sometimes blood in the urine due to irritation of the urinary tract lining. As the stone moves or increases in size, it can cause intermittent blockage of urine flow, resulting in swelling of the kidney (hydronephrosis), recurrent urinary infections, and progressive damage to kidney tissue. If left untreated, kidney stones may lead to chronic obstruction, permanent loss of kidney function, and severe complications such as infection spreading to the bloodstream.

Background
Adamu is an energetic twenty-year-old young man known for his helpful nature and strong work ethic. He enjoys assisting his father with small trades and takes pride in supporting his family financially whenever he can. He loves playing football with his friends and has a keen interest in learning about new technologies. His long-term dream is to become an engineer so he can build solutions that improve the lives of people in his community. Adam was referred to our health facility with colicky right flank pain radiating to the groin, hematuria, since one month. Adam was well until recently when he started experiencing aforementioned symptoms. He was seen and evaluated by our team and was confirmed to have Right kidney stone. He was planned for elective surgery upon approval by Helpster charity foundation.
Prognosis
Adam's right kidney has indwelling large stone and is causing excruciating pains, and even after taking painkiller pain still remains. He requires surgical treatment, if left untreated, the stone may continue to pass or become lodged in a position that causes obstruction and potential kidney damage. Prognosis With timely and appropriate intervention, he is expected to have a favorable outcome.
