Auwal is a 19-year-old boy who enjoys playing football with his friends and helping his father with small repairs around the house. He also likes reading about science and technology in his spare time. He dreams of becoming a mechanical engineer so he can design and build machines that will help his community. He has been generally healthy, with no chronic illnesses or prior surgeries. Auwal, presented with high-grade fever, chills, and generalized weakness for 3 days. He also experienced headache, loss of appetite, and intermittent vomiting. His parents noticed that he was lethargic, less active than usual, and complained of body pains. At UMD, he was evaluated and diagnosed with acute malaria with moderate dehydration. Treatment with Antimalarial, IV fluids and multivitamins commenced.

After falling seriously ill with high grade fever, accompanied by chills,and intense body weakness and became lethargic and refused to eat.His parent noticed she is vomiting and her lips became dry.He struggled to keep up with daily life activities. His family, worried and without enough money for treatment, turned to Helpster Charity for support. Thanks to Helpster Charity, He was evaluated and investigated in UMD hospital and diagnosed with Severe Malaria. He was admitted and had antimalarials injections, intravenous fluids and other supportive treatment in the hospital for 3 days. Slowly, he recovered, symptoms subsided, and he regained his strength.Auwal was discharged home with hia parents, and he can return to school. Auwal and his family are deeply thankful to Helpster Charity for their kindness and timely help that gave him a second chance at health and hope.

Auwal is was diagnosed to have acute malaria. Is a life threatening condition. He will be admitted and treated accordingly to avert potential complications such as cerebral malaria, convulsion, anemia amongst other. Generally, the prognosis for malaria treatment is favorable if treatment is commenced early and appropriately.
