The patient is a 40 weeks and 6 days pregnant woman, gravida 2 and para 1, who presented with a breech presentation, a condition in which the fetus is positioned in the uterus with its buttocks or feet pointing downward instead of the usual head-down position. Due to these complications, the fetus is at risk of developing fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury, and head entrapment, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.

Background
Most. Rotna is a kind and hardworking 26-year-old pregnant woman who lives with her husband Md. Moktarul, their young son Alif Babu, and her sister-in-law Golshan Ara, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, in extremely fragile conditions without a permanent home. Her husband’s income of around 6,000 BDT per month as a day laborer is barely enough to support the family, making it impossible to afford the urgent medical care she now requires. Despite her difficult condition, Rotna remains hopeful and strong, dreaming of a safe delivery and a healthy baby while caring for her family. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical staff member when they were struggling to find support for her treatment. If she does not receive timely medical intervention, her breech pregnancy along with severe anemia may lead to serious complications during delivery, putting both her life and her unborn baby at significant risk.
Medical history
Most. Rotna was admitted to the hospital on 7 April 2026 with a 40 weeks and 6 days pregnancy complicated by breech presentation. Considering the risks associated with her condition, the medical team promptly decided to perform a Lower Segment Caesarean Section on the same day. The operation was successful, and both the mother and baby were safe. Following the surgery, she received comprehensive postoperative care, including proper medical management, continuous monitoring, pain control, and attentive nursing support to ensure a smooth recovery. Her condition improved steadily over the next few days, with no signs of complications, and both mother and baby remained stable. With satisfactory recovery and improved health, she was safely discharged on 10 April 2026 in a secure and stable condition, with a positive outlook for continued recovery.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for her is LSCS under SAB, which is the safest option to deliver the baby immediately and prevent further complications. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may suffer from fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury, or oxygen deprivation leading to permanent brain damage or even death, and the mother may also face life-threatening infections or complications.
