Md. Yousuf, a cheerful 4-year-old boy, lives with his parents and four siblings in a small makeshift shelter, where his father’s irregular income as a day laborer is not enough to meet basic needs, making it impossible to afford medical treatment. Despite these hardships, Yousuf is a bright and resilient child whose illness has made him weak, irritable, and unable to eat properly. He has been suffering from painful swelling in the groin area, which has been diagnosed as an inguinal hernia requiring surgery. His parents are deeply concerned but cannot bear the treatment cost due to financial limitations. They learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Abu Sayed and sought help, as without timely treatment, his condition may worsen, leading to severe pain, complications, and life-threatening risk.

Mohammad Yousuf, a 04-year-old male child, was admitted on 23.04.2026 with complaints of right-sided scrotal swelling, associated with intermittent groin pain and swelling for two year at Orion Hospital through Helpster volunteer Md Abu Sayeed. On admission, a thorough clinical examination and necessary investigations were performed to confirm the diagnosis. The patient was diagnosed with a right-sided reducible incomplete direct hernia and subsequently underwent herniotomy (inguinal hernia repair) under General Anesthesia. Post-operative care, including pain management, wound care, and follow-up, was provided to ensure full recovery. He remained hospitalized for four days, and the operation was performed on 23.04.2026. The patient was discharged on 27.04.2026 in a stable condition with medications, dietary advice, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Doctors have recommended a herniotomy (inguinal hernia repair) to correct Mohammed Yousuf’s condition and prevent further complications. With proper postoperative care, including pain management, wound care, and regular follow-up visits, he is expected to make a full recovery and return to normal childhood activities without pain or restriction. The procedure will relieve his recurring discomfort, improve his appetite, and allow him to grow and play like other children his age. However, if left untreated, the hernia may become trapped or obstructed, cutting off blood supply to the intestine and leading to a life-threatening emergency. Timely surgery will not only restore his health but also protect his future well-being and development.
