Suvojit Barua is a gentle 10-month-old baby boy who is deeply loved by his parents and four siblings despite their difficult life in a poor coastal community. His father is the only earning member of the family and works irregular daily jobs with uncertain income, making it impossible to afford costly hospital treatment for the sick child. When Suvojit developed severe cough, high fever, breathing difficulty, and weakness, his worried parents struggled helplessly because there was no nearby government healthcare facility and private treatment costs were beyond their reach. After learning about Helpster Charity through volunteer Mohammad Abu Sayeed, the family sought urgent medical help, where doctors diagnosed him with severe community-acquired pneumonia with low oxygen levels. Without urgent treatment and proper medical care, his condition may worsen rapidly and lead to severe breathing failure, widespread infection, and life-threatening complications.

Suvojit Barua, a 12-month-old infant, was admitted on 14.04.2026 to Orion Hospital with complaints of severe cough with difficulty breathing, high-grade fever for seven days, along with reduced feeding and irritability. The patient was admitted through Helpster volunteer at Orion Hospital, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. On admission, detailed clinical evaluation and necessary investigations were conducted. The patient was diagnosed with Severe Community-Acquired Pneumonia (CAP) with hypoxemia. He was managed with hospitalization under close monitoring, including oxygen therapy for hypoxemia, appropriate pharmacological treatment, correction of fluids and electrolytes, and adequate nutritional support to ensure recovery. The patient remained hospitalized for a total of 04 days and was discharged on 18.04.2026 in stable condition with proper medical advice and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Doctors have have advised immediate hospital-based treatment including oxygen support, antibiotics, fever control, and close monitoring to stabilize his condition. With timely and proper medical care, there is a strong chance of recovery, and he can gradually return to normal health as the infection clears and breathing improves. However, if left untreated, the infection may rapidly worsen, leading to severe breathing failure, spread of infection in the body, and life-threatening complications, which may even result in death.
