Chahi Moni is a fragile and innocent 12-month-old baby boy from a poor coastal community in Bangladesh who is deeply loved by his parents and siblings despite their difficult living conditions. He lives with his family in a small bamboo-and-tin house on uneven hill land where his father struggles to support the family as the only earning member with an uncertain daily income, leaving no savings for emergency hospital treatment and oxygen support. Chahi’s severe cough, high fever, breathing difficulty, poor feeding, and constant irritability have made him extremely weak and restless, causing fear and sleepless nights for his parents as they watch their little child struggle to breathe. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through Helpster volunteer Mohammad Abu Sayeed after being unable to access proper medical care due to poverty and lack of nearby healthcare facilities. Doctors have warned that without urgent treatment and supportive care, his severe community-acquired pneumonia with hypoxemia may worsen rapidly, causing dangerously low oxygen levels, severe lung infection, breathing failure, and potentially life-threatening complications.

Chahi Moni, a 39-month-old infant, was admitted on 19.04.2026 to Orion Hospital with complaints of severe cough with difficulty breathing, high-grade fever for seven days, along with reduced feeding and irritability. The patient was admitted through Helpster volunteer at Orion Hospital, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. On admission, detailed clinical evaluation and necessary investigations were conducted. The patient was diagnosed with Severe Community-Acquired Pneumonia (CAP) with hypoxemia. She was managed with hospitalization under close monitoring, including oxygen therapy for hypoxemia, appropriate pharmacological treatment, correction of fluids and electrolytes, and adequate nutritional support to ensure recovery. The patient remained hospitalized for a total of 04 days and was discharged on 23.04.2026 in stable condition with proper medical advice and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Doctors Chahi Moni's have have advised immediate hospital-based treatment including oxygen support, antibiotics, fever control, and close monitoring to stabilize his condition. With timely and proper medical care, there is a strong chance of recovery, and he can gradually return to normal health as the infection clears and breathing improves. However, if left untreated, the infection may rapidly worsen, leading to severe breathing failure, spread of infection in the body, and life-threatening complications, which may even result in death.
