Lovely Begum, a 32-year-old woman who is 37 weeks pregnant, has been diagnosed with oligohydramnios and anemia. Oligohydramnios is a condition where the amount of amniotic fluid around the baby is lower than normal, increasing the risk of complications during delivery such as fetal distress and prolonged labor. Her anemia has also made her physically weak and more vulnerable during childbirth. Careful monitoring and timely medical treatment are essential to ensure a safe delivery for both mother and baby.

Background
Lovely Begum is a caring mother who spends her days looking after her young son, Lajvin Rahman, and supporting her family despite their extreme poverty. Her husband, Sajedul Islam, works as a day laborer with an unstable income of around 6,000 BDT per month, making it impossible to manage household expenses and costly pregnancy treatment at the same time. During the final stage of her pregnancy, Lovely became physically weak due to anemia, and doctors later found that the fluid around the baby was dangerously low, causing deep fear and anxiety for the whole family. After learning about Helpster Charity through a staff member of Life Care Hospital, the family sought urgent medical support and care. Without proper treatment and close medical monitoring, both the mother and unborn baby could face serious and life-threatening complications during childbirth.
Medical history
Lovely Begum was admitted to the hospital on 20/04/2026 at 37 weeks of pregnancy due to complications from moderate oligohydramnios and anemia, which increased the risks during delivery. Considering her condition, the doctors proceeded with a planned cesarean section (LUCS). The surgery was successfully performed, and the baby was delivered safely. Following the operation, Lovely received proper post-operative care, including medications, antibiotics, and nutritional support. Both mother and baby remained stable and gradually recovered during their hospital stay. Within a few days, Lovely was able to move comfortably and care for her newborn. She was discharged from the hospital on 23/04/2026 in improved condition. Lovely Begum and her family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, its volunteers, and the medical team for their compassionate support and timely assistance, which helped ensure a safe delivery for both mother and baby.
Prognosis
With timely LUCS (Lower Uterine Cesarean Section) and proper medical care, Lovely Begum’s baby can be delivered safely, reducing the risks caused by moderate oligohydramnios and anemia. Early intervention will help prevent fetal distress and other delivery complications, giving both mother and baby a better chance of recovery. However, if left untreated, her condition may lead to serious complications during childbirth, putting both mother and baby at significant risk.
