Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About eyes
Dermolyphoma in the eye is an abnormal growth that can obstruct vision, cause pain, and damage surrounding eye structures. This condition is especially dangerous as it can lead to progressive vision loss and even permanent blindness in the affected eye if left untreated.

Background
Shahinur Akter is a 3-year-old girl who lives with her parents and two brothers in a small tin-made house in Kadamtali, where her father works as a farmer on other people's land and earns only around BDT 7,500 per month. The family's limited income is barely enough to cover food and daily necessities, making the cost of specialized eye treatment impossible to afford. Despite her illness, Shahinur is a cheerful and affectionate child who enjoys playing with her dolls and spending time with her brothers. As the condition in her left eye has worsened, it has begun affecting her comfort and vision, causing increasing concern for her parents. Without timely treatment, the disease may lead to permanent damage to her eyesight and could significantly affect her development, education, and future quality of life. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Nasima Akhter, Counselor of the Pediatric Unit, and Helpster Volunteer Md. Al Amin.
Prognosis
According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant at the hospital, Shahinur requires urgent eye surgery under General Anesthesia with appropriate corrective procedures to protect and restore her vision. The doctor has assured that with timely treatment and proper follow-up care, Shahinur has a strong chance of recovering well and living a normal, healthy childhood. She will be able to play, learn, and grow like other children. However, if the treatment is delayed or not performed, her condition may worsen, leading to permanent damage to her vision and limiting her future opportunities. Your generous contribution can help restore Shahinur’s eyesight and give her the chance to grow up with a brighter and healthier future.
