Caroline is an 18-year-old girl from a humble rural background. She was previously a Form Three student but dropped out of school due to persistent illness, lack of school fees, and limited access to proper healthcare. Despite these challenges, she remains respectful, intelligent, and determined. Caroline enjoys singing and dreams of becoming a successful musician in the future. She lives with her mother, who is the sole provider and survives through casual labour jobs that earn very little income. The family struggles to meet basic needs, making it difficult to afford school fees, medication, and specialized medical care. Caroline was brought to the hospital by her mother in a severely unwell condition, complaining of severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, watery diarrhea, chills, headache, weakness, and inability to tolerate food or fluids. She underwent clinical examination, laboratory tests, and ultrasound investigations. Based on the findings, she was diagnosed with severe malaria, acute abdomen, and gastroenteritis. Due to the severity of her condition, she required urgent medical treatment, close monitoring, and supportive care.

Carolyne was brought to the facility by her mother with complains of, severe abdominal pain, diarrhoea vomiting everything for several episodes, Child and headache. Based on findings, she was diagnosed with acute abdominal, severe malaria and gastroenteritis in immune suppression syndrome. Was admitted for treatment, management and further investigation for a while and responded well to medication and discharged when stable and in good state.

Caroline presented in a weak and dehydrated condition with symptoms of severe infection and poor general health. Clinical evaluation and investigations confirmed severe malaria and severe gastroenteritis in a patient with lowered immunity, requiring urgent admission, close monitoring, intravenous medication, fluids, and supportive care. Delayed access to healthcare due to financial hardship contributed to worsening of her condition. Following treatment, Caroline has shown gradual clinical improvement. With continued medication adherence, proper nutrition, follow-up care, and improved access to healthcare, her prognosis is fair to good.
