Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Md. Osman is a gentle and playful 4-year-old boy who lives with his poor family in difficult living conditions. His father, Monir, works as a rickshaw puller and earns only around 8,000 BDT per month, which is not enough to support the six-member family, including Osman’s school-going sister Maryam and his elderly grandparents Hashem and Nayan. During a seasonal outbreak in the area, poor hygiene conditions, use of common toilets, and lack of safe drinking water caused Osman to develop high fever, severe cough, and abdominal pain, making his condition weaker day by day. His worried mother took him to Saheda Gafur Ibrahim General Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with typhoid and admitted him for urgent treatment and close monitoring. Without proper treatment, the infection could become severe and lead to dangerous complications, but the family is struggling to continue the medical expenses and learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Abdur Rahman.
