His father, Malam Salisu, works as a driver and does not stay at home regularly. He provides only ₦10,000 monthly to support the family's feeding. His mother is a full-time housewife and currently unemployed, leaving the family with no stable source of income. Rabiu is passionate about his education and enjoys attending school. However, due to the family's financial hardship, he has been unable to pay his PTA fees, which has resulted in him being repeatedly sent back home from school. They are facing serious financial difficulties and is unable to meet Rabiu’s medical and educational needs.
Medical history
Rabiu Salisu, a 9-year-old boy diagnosed with inguinal scrotal hernia with hydrocele, was taken to the hospital after a year of progressive scrotal swelling. He was examined and found to be stable, but the condition was affecting his comfort and school attendance. Doctors recommended surgical treatment as the best option for recovery. However, due to the family’s financial hardship, they are unable to afford the operation and sought assistance through Helpster Charity. With timely surgery, Rabiu is expected to make a full recovery, relieve the swelling, and return to normal health and schooling.
