He is a fragile and innocent child whose constant discomfort has left him restless and crying. He developed swelling around his umbilicus with abdominal pain, and doctors diagnosed an umbilical hernia requiring proper care. His parents and siblings are deeply worried but feel helpless due to financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp, as without timely treatment, his condition may worsen, leading to complications like obstruction or strangulation, which can be life-threatening.

The patient, Rafi Hossain, aged 1 month, was admitted to AL-Manar Hospital on 26th April 2026 with the diagnosis of an umbilical hernia. He received conservative treatment, including pain management and IV fluids, as well as close monitoring for his condition. The treatment helped stabilize his symptoms, and he was discharged on 29th April 2026 with advice for follow-up care. The patient’s parents are thankful to Helpster Charity for their support during the treatment, as they continue to ensure Rafi’s recovery at home. His hospital stay lasted 3 days, during which he showed steady improvement.

With timely conservative treatment, including monitoring, IV fluids, and pain management, Rafi Hossain’s condition can be stabilized and his discomfort reduced. As he grows, the umbilical hernia may gradually improve, and regular follow-up will ensure safe recovery. With proper care, he can grow and develop normally. However, if left untreated, the hernia may enlarge and lead to complications like intestinal obstruction or strangulation. This can cause severe pain and become life-threatening, making timely medical care essential.
