Mohammad Al Araf is a cheerful and active 2.4-year-old boy who lives with his parents and a younger sibling in a small home near the coastal area of Inani, Cox’s Bazar. His father is the sole earning member of the family, and their limited income is barely enough to provide food and basic necessities for the household, making the cost of emergency medical treatment impossible to afford. After suddenly injuring his left eye, Al Araf developed severe pain, redness, and excessive tearing, requiring urgent medical attention to protect his vision. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Abu Sayeed, who quickly assisted them in obtaining specialized care. Without timely treatment, the eye injury could lead to infection, permanent damage to the cornea, impaired vision, or even partial loss of sight, affecting his future development and quality of life.

Al Mubin, a 2-year-old male child, was admitted on 23.04.2026 to Orion Hospital with complaints of sudden injury to the left eye, associated with pain, tearing, and redness for 6 hours, through Helpster volunteer Abu Sayeed. On admission, detailed clinical evaluation was performed, and the patient was diagnosed with corneal abrasion of the right eye. He was managed conservatively with topical antibiotic eye drops, lubricating drops/ointment, and analgesics as needed. Eye patching was applied, and close follow-up was ensured to monitor healing and prevent complications. The family was also guided on proper eye hygiene and basic WASH practices to support safe recovery and reduce the risk of sight loss. He remained hospitalized for three days and was discharged on 26.04.2026 in stable condition with necessary medications and follow-up advice. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

The doctor has advised immediate treatment with antibiotic eye drops, lubricating ointment, pain relief medication, and protective eye patching, along with close follow-up to ensure proper healing. With timely and appropriate care, eye is expected to heal completely, relieving her pain and restoring normal vision without long-term effects. Guidance on hygiene and safe practices will further reduce the risk of infection and support a smooth recovery. However, if left untreated, the corneal abrasion could become infected and develop into a corneal ulcer, which may cause permanent scarring. In severe cases, this can lead to partial or complete loss of vision in the affected eye, making urgent treatment essential to protect her sight.
