Moraa is the first-born in a family of three children and lives with her single mother and siblings in a single-room, mud-walled, grass-thatched house. Due to financial challenges, she dropped out of school and currently has no source of income. The family depends on her mother, who practices small-scale farming, to meet their basic needs. Moraa enjoys singing and actively participates in church activities. She visited a nearby health facility where she was confirmed to be pregnant in the early months. Despite the challenges, she remained committed to her antenatal care, walking over an hour to the facility for each visit and successfully attending four ANC clinics. Her pregnancy progressed well until she suddenly developed vaginal bleeding after her expected due date had passed. Concerned about her condition, she sought urgent care and was assessed to be at risk, both for herself and the baby. She was immediately referred to Siaya County Referral Hospital, where she was scheduled for an emergency caesarean section. Having learned about Helpster Charity from a community health promoter, and lacking insurance or funds, she requested support through the program.

Angel Moraa came to hospital with abdominal pain and viginal bleeding.She was diagnosed with post datism which required an emergency ceaserean surgery. The surgery was a sucess and she was takento the ward for post operation management.While in the ward she was administered Iv ceftriaxone metronidazole morphine among other drugs. The catheter was removed after 72 hours and ambulation encouraged.She responded well to medication and finally discharged on oral with a followup clinic booked for her.

Moraa presents with post-term pregnancy complicated by vaginal bleeding, indicating a high-risk obstetric situation. She has been admitted for close monitoring and prepared for an emergency caesarean section to prevent further complications. The bleeding raises concern for placental compromise, which may affect oxygen supply to the baby, while also putting the mother at risk of significant blood loss. At this stage, her condition is stable but requires urgent intervention. With timely surgical management and appropriate care, the prognosis for both Moraa and her baby is good. However, any delay could result in severe complications, including fetal distress or maternal hemorrhage.
