Musa is a 1yo male child living with his parents and 5 siblings. The father is a labourer and the mother is a house wife. The house has 2 rooms and pit toilet, they make use of water from the borehole, they have access to electricity, monthly income is 5,000. They struggle so hard to feed in the family. Musa's illness started with greenish and foamy stooling about 2 months ago, followed by depression anterior fontanelle, weakness and vomiting everything ingested. He lost appetite and lost weight. The body became hot, by no convulsions. He also coughs and is irritable and does not sleep well. On examination, a 1-year-old male child conscious but ill looking, irritable and warm to touch (38.5o C), unicteric, acyanosed. Sunken anterior fontanelle, sunken eyes, flaring of allae nasi, intercostal depression. Skin lagging. He was diagnosed with severe malaria with dehydration and pneumonia. The family are poor and lack the money for his medical care, this made them to contact Helpster charity for help.

Treatment commenced with injection antimalarials, injection antibiotics, IV fluids and other supportive care was administered, he responded well to treatment until stable and discharged. The mother looks happy as her child is well again. They extended their appreciation to Helpster charity and everyone responsible.

Musa presented quite sick having fever, dehydration, respiratory infections and was diagnosed with severe malaria with pneumonia. He requires immediate medical treatment to prevent severe complications. combination of severe malaria, dehydration, and pneumonia in a child can trigger catastrophic complications like acute respiratory failure, profound metabolic acidosis, and hypovolemic or septic shock. Without immediate emergency intervention, this fluid loss and oxygen deprivation can rapidly progress to multiple organ dysfunction, coma from cerebral malaria, or death. Prompt antimalarial treatment and rehydration were commenced with good clinical response. Prognosis is favorable with timely management, though complications will occur if diagnosis or treatment is delayed.
