Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Md Shawon Hossain is a polite and hardworking 14-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a soldier and studies in class 6 at a local missionary school. He lives with his parents and two brothers in a tiny overcrowded room at Geneva Bihari Camp, where his father struggles to support the family with a small income of around 9,000 BDT per month as a day laborer, making it impossible to afford proper orthopedic treatment and surgery. After falling from a height nearly two months ago, Shawon suffered severe pain and difficulty moving his right hand, which gradually affected his studies, daily activities, and normal life. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach program after realizing they could not continue treatment on their own. Without proper treatment and surgery, the fracture may heal incorrectly, causing permanent pain, weakness, deformity, and long-term difficulty using his right hand normally.

Medical history

Md Shawon Hossain was admitted to Al Manar Hospital on 2nd May 2026 after suffering from persistent pain and difficulty moving his right hand due to a fracture caused by a fall from height. After necessary examinations, X-rays, and medical evaluation, doctors diagnosed him with a uniting fracture of the distal shaft of the right radius and provided conservative and supportive treatment along with medicines and medical advice. Following the treatment, his pain gradually improved, and he was advised to continue follow-up care and proper rest for complete recovery. He was discharged from the hospital on 06-05-2026 in stable condition with further medical advice. Shawon and his family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, the generous volunteers, and the doctors and staff of Al Manar Hospital for their compassionate support and timely treatment during this difficult period. They sincerely thanked everyone involved for helping him continue his recovery and giving hope for a healthier future.

Prognosis

According to the doctors, with proper conservative treatment, regular follow-up, medicines, and adequate rest, Md Shawon Hossain has a good chance of recovering gradually and regaining normal movement and strength in his right hand. Timely treatment will help the fractured bone heal properly and reduce pain, allowing him to return to his studies and daily activities without major limitations. Doctors advised that proper care during the healing period is very important to avoid weakness or deformity in the affected arm. If the injury is left untreated or proper medical advice is not followed, the bone may heal incorrectly, which could lead to permanent pain, restricted hand movement, weakness, or long-term disability. Such complications could seriously affect his education, future physical abilities, and dream .
