Aksa Akter has been diagnosed with acute allergic rhinitis paired with severe pneumonia, a serious condition affecting both her nose and lungs. She had been suffering from continuous nasal discharge, itching, sneezing, and nasal blockage for several weeks before developing high fever and severe breathing difficulty. As the infection spread to her lungs, her condition became critical, making her weak, uncomfortable, and unable to breathe properly. She is currently under close medical treatment and observation, as without proper treatment the severe pneumonia could worsen rapidly, cause dangerously low oxygen levels, breathing failure, and potentially life-threatening complications.

Background
Aksa Akter is a gentle and innocent 2-year-old girl from Geneva Bihari Camp who loves staying close to her parents and grandmother despite the difficult conditions of camp life. She lives with her parents and chronically ill grandmother Azma in a small overcrowded shelter where her father struggles to support the family by pulling a rickshaw and earning only around 9,000 BDT per month, leaving no savings for costly hospital treatment and medicines after managing food, rent, and her grandmother’s ongoing medical expenses. Aksa’s severe breathing difficulty, high fever, weakness, and lung infection have made her unable to sleep, eat, or play normally, causing constant fear and sleepless nights for her family members. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp organized by Helpster Charity in Geneva Camp, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Doctors have warned that without urgent treatment and close medical care, her severe pneumonia may rapidly worsen, causing dangerously low oxygen levels, serious breathing failure, and potentially life-threatening complications affecting her growth and survival.
Medical history
Aksa Akter was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on May 2, 2026, at 07:09 PM to begin her urgent treatment. Over a 5-day hospital stay, she received comprehensive conservative care, including life-saving oxygen therapy and intensive antibiotic treatment to fight her severe pneumonia. Thanks to this timely intervention, Aksa responded beautifully to the medical management and was successfully discharged on May 7, 2026, with her breathing fully stabilized. She returned home to Geneva Camp with her grateful family, equipped with essential take-home recovery medicines to ensure she continues to grow up healthy and active.
Prognosis
According to the doctors, Aksa Akter urgently needs hospitalization, antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and other supportive treatment to control the severe lung infection and improve her breathing. With timely treatment and close medical monitoring, her fever, breathing difficulty, nasal symptoms, and weakness are expected to improve gradually, helping her recover and return to a healthier childhood. Doctors are carefully observing her condition to prevent the infection from becoming more serious and affecting her lungs permanently. However, if she does not receive proper treatment on time, the severe pneumonia may worsen rapidly, cause dangerously low oxygen levels, breathing failure, severe infection throughout the body, and become life-threatening.
