Seven-year-old Abdul Hossain has been diagnosed with Acute Gastroenteritis (AGE), severe scabies, and suspected measles. AGE caused severe diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, weakness, and loss of consciousness due to excessive fluid loss from his body. Severe scabies caused intense itching, skin irritation, and widespread skin infection, while suspected measles led to high fever, body rash, and further physical weakness

Background
Abdul Hossain is a cheerful seven-year-old boy who loves drawing and dreams of becoming a doctor one day. He lives with his parents in a small rented room in Mohammadpur, where his father struggles to support the family by driving a rickshaw with a very limited monthly income. When Abdul became seriously ill with fever, rash, vomiting, and severe dehydration, he suddenly lost consciousness on the road, leaving his helpless father unable to afford urgent medical treatment. A passing doctor noticed the situation and connected the family with Helpster Charity, which helped arrange emergency hospital care for the child. Without proper treatment, Abdul’s severe dehydration and infections could have become life-threatening and caused serious complications to his health.
Medical history
Abdul Hossain was immediately admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd. on May 2, 2026, at 3:00 PM for a vital 4-day emergency inpatient stay. During his hospitalization, the clinical team initiated conservative management consisting of intensive intravenous fluids, targeted antibiotics, and supportive therapies to reverse his critical dehydration, blood-mixed vomiting, and severe gastrointestinal distress. Thanks to this swift medical intervention, his life-threatening symptoms were successfully controlled, and his condition stabilized, allowing him to be safely discharged on May 6, 2026. Abdul is currently recovering at home while completing a precise Take-Home medication regimen and preparing for a family-wide topical sanitation protocol to eradicate his severe scabies infestation. To ensure a full recovery, his family is now diligently preparing to fulfill the doctor's urgent referral for immediate admission into a specialized public infectious facility to safely manage his highly contagious suspected case of measles.
Prognosis
According to the doctors, Abdul Hossain has a good chance of recovery if he continues receiving proper hospitalization, hydration, conservative treatment, medicines, and supportive care. The treatment will help restore lost body fluids, control infection, reduce fever and skin complications, and gradually improve his strength and overall condition. Close medical monitoring is also important to prevent dehydration and complications related to suspected measles and severe skin infection. However, if left untreated, his severe dehydration, infection, weakness, and possible measles-related complications could become life-threatening and may seriously affect his health and recovery.
