Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Seba Hospital

Background

Hafizur Rahman is a calm and innocent five-month-old baby born into a financially struggling family. His father, Abdul Malik, works as a day labourer and earns around 5,000 BDT per month, which is not enough to support the five-member household, including Hafizur’s mother Asma Begum, his elder brother Sayban Ahmed, and grandmother Koyrun Bibi. When Hafizur became seriously ill with fever, cold, cough, and breathing difficulty, his worried family admitted him to Seba Hospital after his condition continued to worsen. Doctors diagnosed him with severe pneumonia and started hospital treatment, careful observation, and supportive care to help him recover. The family is unable to bear the ongoing medical expenses due to their poor financial condition, and they came to know about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema while seeking assistance for the child’s treatment.

Medical history

Hafizur Rahman was admitted to the hospital on 02 May 2026 after suffering from severe pneumonia. He had fever, cold and cough, breathing difficulties, and was very weak, so doctors began treatment immediately and kept him under close observation. He received medicines, oxygen support, and regular care to help improve his breathing and overall condition. After 7 days of treatment and careful monitoring, Hafizur’s health improved, and he was discharged on 09 May 2026 in stable condition with advice for continued care at home. His family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, the dedicated volunteers, and the hospital doctors and staff for their kindness, support, and care during this difficult time.

Prognosis

According to the doctors, Hafizur Rahman requires hospitalization, antibiotic treatment, nebulization, and supportive care to recover from severe pneumonia and breathing difficulty. With proper treatment and close monitoring, his fever, cough, and breathing problem are expected to improve gradually, helping him return to a healthy and normal childhood. Doctors are providing continuous care to prevent the infection from spreading further into the lungs and to maintain his breathing and overall condition. However, if Hafizur does not receive timely treatment, the severe lung infection could become life-threatening and may lead to serious breathing failure, severe weakness, and other dangerous complications.
