Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Abdus Samad is a calm, polite, and gentle 10-year-old boy who comes from a financially struggling family living in a tin-made house with a muddy floor. His father, Abdus Shahid, works as a rickshaw puller and earns around 6,000 BDT per month, which is not enough to support the family’s daily expenses, including the education and needs of Samad, his sister Tanjina Begum, and his elder brother Belal Ahmed. When Samad became seriously ill with fever, vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and yellowing of his eyes and skin, the entire family became deeply worried and admitted him to Seba Hospital for urgent treatment. Doctors diagnosed him with acute hepatitis and started medicines, fluids, rest, and close observation to help him recover. Without proper treatment and continued medical care, his liver condition could become severe and life-threatening, but the family is struggling to continue the treatment expenses and learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema.

Medical history

Abdus Samad was admitted to Seba Hospital on 03 May 2026 with a diagnosis of acute hepatitis. He received treatment under the care of a pediatrician for 7 days. During his hospitalization, he was provided with all necessary supportive therapy and was closely monitored by doctors and nurses. He was discharged on 10 May 2026 with medical advice. At the time of discharge, the patient’s family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Ema and the Seba Hospital team.

Prognosis

With proper treatment, medicines, rest, and close monitoring, Abdus Samad can gradually recover and return to a healthy life. The treatment will help reduce his fever, vomiting, weakness, and protect his liver from further damage. However, without timely medical care, his condition could become life-threatening and may cause severe complications in his body. Early treatment and continuous observation are therefore very important for his safe recovery.
