Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections

Tanha Akter Liza has been diagnosed with adenotonsillitis with otitis media with effusion (OME), which is a condition involving repeated infection and enlargement of the tonsils and adenoids along with fluid collection in the middle ear. This has led to recurrent sore throat, fever, painful swallowing, and difficulty in eating for a long time. She also experiences nasal blockage causing mouth breathing, snoring, and disturbed sleep, which affects her daily comfort and rest. Additionally, the ear involvement has caused earache and may impact hearing if not treated properly.

Thank you for saving this life!

Background

Tanha Akter Liza is a gentle and hardworking 14-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a teacher and helping her family in the future. She lives with her widowed mother and younger sister in Geneva Bihari Camp, where her mother, Tania Akter, struggles to support the family by working as a housemaid, making it impossible to manage costly medical expenses. For the last year, Tanha has been suffering from repeated throat infections, fever, difficulty eating, restless sleep, and severe ear pain, which gradually made her weak and affected her studies and daily life. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp after they became unable to continue proper treatment on their own. Without proper treatment, her condition may become more serious, causing severe pain, hearing problems, repeated infections, difficulty breathing during sleep, and long-term health complications.

Medical history

Tanha Akter Liza was admitted to the hospital on 04-05-2026 with recurrent adenotonsillitis and otitis media with effusion, presenting with severe sore throat, high fever, earache, and difficulty swallowing. After admission, she was evaluated by the doctors and started on appropriate antibiotics, pain management, and supportive care to control the infection and relieve her symptoms. During her hospital stay, her condition gradually improved, with reduction of fever, relief from throat pain, and improvement in ear discomfort and general weakness. She was closely monitored and responded well to the treatment provided. After satisfactory recovery, Tanha was discharged from the hospital on 06-05-2026 with advice for regular follow-up, medication, and proper care for full recovery.

Prognosis

According to the doctors, Tanha Akter Liza needs adenotonsillectomy with grommet insertion to treat her repeated throat infections and ear problems. With proper surgery and treatment, her throat pain, fever, earache, breathing difficulty during sleep, and eating problems are expected to improve gradually, helping her return to a healthier and more comfortable daily life. The treatment may also improve her sleep, hearing, and overall well-being. Without proper treatment, her condition may become more severe, causing repeated infections, worsening ear problems, hearing difficulties, poor sleep, and long-term health complications.
