Nur Jahan is a gentle and hardworking 11-year-old girl from Geneva Bihari Camp, Dhaka, who loves studying and spending time with her younger siblings despite the difficult conditions of camp life. She lives with her parents and siblings in a small overcrowded shelter where her father, Md. Sahab Uddin, struggles to support the family by driving a rickshaw and earning only around 9,000 BDT per month, leaving no savings for costly hospital treatment, surgery, and medicines after managing food and rent. Nur Jahan’s painful neck swelling, fever, weakness, loss of appetite, and weight loss have made her unable to attend school regularly, play normally, or enjoy a healthy childhood, causing constant fear and anxiety for her mother Rumi Akter and the entire family. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp organized by Helpster Charity in Geneva Camp, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Doctors have warned that without urgent treatment and close medical care, the infection in her neck may spread further inside her body, cause severe complications, worsening weakness, breathing problems, and potentially life-threatening illness.

Nur Jahan, aged 11 years, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on 05 May 2026 at 12:34 PM with the diagnosis of neck abscess with lymphadenopathy. She underwent L.N. biopsy surgery on 05 May 2026 under the care of Dr. Md. Ibrahim Khalil Ullah. After the operation, she stayed in the hospital for about 2 days and received medicines, dressing care, and medical observation. She was discharged on 07 May 2026 with advice for regular dressing, prescribed medicines, and follow-up care. Her guardian expressed gratitude to Helpster Charity for supporting Nur Jahan’s treatment during this difficult time.

According to the doctors, Nur Jahan urgently needs surgery to drain the abscess, regular wound dressing, and further tests including lymph node biopsy to identify the exact cause of the infection. If tuberculosis is detected, she will also require a full course of anti-TB medication and close medical follow-up. With proper treatment and monitoring, her swelling, fever, weakness, and pain are expected to improve gradually, helping her return to a healthier and more active life. However, if she remains untreated, the infection may spread further inside her body, cause severe complications, worsening weakness, damage to nearby tissues, and potentially life-threatening illness.
