Background
Morium Akter is a gentle and hardworking 13-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a school teacher and helping others in the future. She lives with her parents and family in a small overcrowded shelter in Geneva Camp where her father struggles to support the family with a small salon income of only 8,500 BDT per month, making it impossible to manage long-term medical expenses and treatment. Morium became seriously ill with severe back pain, joint pain, and weakness in both legs, and over time she became unable to walk or move comfortably, causing deep fear and sadness for her family as they watched her condition worsen day by day. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought help because they could not afford proper treatment on their own. Without proper treatment and follow-up care, her illness could become more severe, causing permanent weakness, difficulty walking, severe pain, and long-term damage to her health and daily life.
Medical history
Following the critical intervention and funding support from Helpster Charity, Morium Akter was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on May 6, 2026, at 01:24 PM to undergo urgent medical care. She received intensive conservative treatment, including targeted antibiotics, analgesics, antipyretics, and heavy nutritional supplementation, during a vital 16-day inpatient hospital stay. Her health successfully stabilized over this period, allowing her to be safely discharged on May 22, 2026, with her vital signs well within normal limits. She is currently continuing her treatment pathway at home, strictly following a multi-drug outpatient prescription to fully manage her joint inflammation. With your continued support, Morium can regularly attend her mandatory follow-up evaluations, safely reclaim her physical mobility, and finally return to school with a confident smile.
Prognosis
According to the doctors, Marium Akter needs hospitalization, supportive treatment, regular evaluation, and close medical follow-up to control her pain, weakness, and infections. With proper treatment, her pain and movement may gradually improve, helping her return to a more normal daily life. Without proper care, her condition may become more severe, causing permanent joint damage, difficulty walking, severe weakness, and long-term health complications.
