Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Ali Newaz is a bright and gentle 9-year-old boy from Geneva Bihari Camp, Dhaka, who loves studying and playing with his friends and dreams of continuing his education for a better future. He lives with his parents, grandparents, and younger family member Afroza Akhter in a small overcrowded rented shelter, where his father struggles to support the entire family with an income of only 9,000 BDT per month, leaving no savings for emergency medical treatment. Ali’s painful neck swelling, fever, toothache, and difficulty swallowing have made it impossible for him to eat properly, attend school, or enjoy his childhood activities. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp organized by Helpster Charity in Geneva Camp, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Doctors have warned that without proper treatment, the serious infection in his neck and mouth may spread rapidly, cause severe breathing and swallowing problems, and become life-threatening.

Medical history

Ali Newaz, aged 9 years, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on 06 May 2026 at 5:21 PM with Ludwig’s Angina with lymphadenopathy. He underwent operative treatment on 07 May 2026, including incision and drainage to control the infection. After the procedure, he stayed in the hospital for about 2 days and showed improvement with medicines and medical care. He was discharged on 08 May 2026 with prescribed medicines and follow-up advice. Ali’s guardian expressed gratitude to Helpster Charity for supporting his treatment and helping him recover safely.

Prognosis

According to the doctors, Ali Newaz urgently needs surgery to drain the infection, regular wound care, antibiotics, pain relief medicines, and removal of the infected tooth after his condition becomes stable. With timely treatment and close medical monitoring, the swelling, pain, fever, and difficulty swallowing are expected to improve gradually, allowing him to return to normal eating, speaking, and daily activities. Doctors are carefully treating the infection to prevent it from spreading further into his neck and mouth. However, if he does not receive proper treatment on time, the infection may become life-threatening by causing severe breathing problems, spreading deeper into the body, and seriously affecting his overall health.
