Sidratul Muntaha has been diagnosed with Acute Watery Diarrhea (AWD) with mild dehydration and pneumonitis, which means she is suffering from frequent loose stools along with a chest infection affecting her breathing. Due to continuous diarrhea and vomiting, her small body has become weak and dehydrated, causing loss of energy and discomfort. At the same time, her cough, fever, and lung infection are making it difficult for her to breathe comfortably and recover properly. As she is only 19 months old, timely treatment, proper hydration, and medical observation are very important to prevent her condition from becoming severe and life-threatening.

Background
Sidratul Muntaha is a calm and gentle 19-month-old girl who brings joy to her large family with her innocent smile and playful nature. Her father, Foysol Ahmed, works as a chef and earns only around 5,000 BDT per month, which is not enough to support seven family members, including four school-going children, making it impossible for the family to manage the cost of hospital treatment. When Sidratul became seriously ill with severe diarrhea, vomiting, cough, and fever, she became very weak and could no longer eat or play normally, leaving her parents extremely worried and helpless. Her mother, Suhada Begum, stayed beside her day and night, while her elder siblings prayed for her recovery, fearing that her condition might become worse if treatment was delayed. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema, and without timely medical care and support, Sidratul could suffer from severe dehydration, breathing problems, and other life-threatening complications.
Medical history
Sidratul Muntaha was admitted to Seba Hospital on 10 May 2026 with diarrhea, vomiting, cough, fever, and mild dehydration with chest infection. She received treatment under the care for several days and was kept under close observation in the hospital. During her hospitalization, she was provided with medicines, fluids, and supportive care by the doctors and nurses. Her condition gradually improved with treatment, and she was discharged on 16 May 2026 with medical advice. At the time of discharge, the patient’s family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Ema and the Seba Hospital team.
Prognosis
According to the treating doctor, Sidratul Muntaha requires immediate hospitalization, parenteral antibiotics, nebulization, adequate hydration, and other supportive treatment to control her infection, improve her breathing, and restore the fluids lost from diarrhea and vomiting. With timely medical care, she is expected to recover gradually and return to her normal healthy and playful life. The treatment will help prevent worsening dehydration, reduce fever and cough, and protect her lungs from further infection. However, if left untreated, her condition may become critical, leading to severe dehydration, breathing difficulty, extreme weakness, low oxygen levels, and other life-threatening complications that could put her young life at serious risk.
