Amoebic dysentery, also known as amebiasis, is an intestinal infection caused by the microscopic parasite Entamoeba histolytica. It is contracted by ingesting contaminated food or water. The infection causes inflammation and ulcers in the colon, leading to severe, bloody diarrhea, stomach cramps, and fever while A peptic ulcer is an open sore that develops in the inner lining of the stomach or the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine). It forms when stomach acid damages the protective lining of these organs and Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is bleeding from the uterus that is irregular in timing, duration, or amount. It is any menstrual bleeding that is different from a person's normal pattern, Moderate anemia is a blood condition where hemoglobin levels fall to 8.0 to 10.9 g/dL, causing symptoms like noticeable fatigue, shortness of breath, and pale skin. It typically stems from iron or vitamin deficiencies, chronic inflammation, or blood loss, and requires medical diagnosis and treatment.

Background
Annet, a 20-year-old woman, was brought to the hospital by her mother with a one-week history of persistent lower abdominal pain, severe epigastric pain, prolonged per vaginal bleeding, and diarrhea that began after eating vegetables. She also complained of frequent passage of loose stools, abdominal cramping, nausea, poor appetite, generalized body weakness, dizziness, easy fatigability, and occasional palpitations. The prolonged bleeding and diarrhea had left her weak, pale, and dehydrated, making it difficult for her to carry out her normal daily activities. On clinical examination and laboratory investigations, she was found to have moderate anemia, with pallor consistent with ongoing blood loss. Based on the clinical findings and investigations, she was diagnosed with amoebic dysentery, abnormal uterine bleeding, peptic ulcer disease, and moderate anemia. Owing to the severity of her condition and the need for close monitoring, intravenous treatment, further investigations, and comprehensive medical management, she was admitted to the hospital for inpatient care.
Medical history
Patient brought to the hospital with complains of; abdominal pain, epigastric pain,P.v bleeding, diarrhea and general body weakness. On examination and laboratory investigation, was diagnosed with peptic ulcers disease and Amoebic dysentery. Was given; I.v R/L, I.v 5%D, I.m Tranexamic acid, I.v Ceftroxane, I.v Flagyl, P.o Omeprazole. She recovered gradually and discharged home on good condition.
Prognosis
Annet, a 20-year-old young woman, has multiple medical conditions that require prompt treatment. Amoebic dysentery can cause diarrhea and dehydration, abnormal uterine bleeding may contribute to blood loss, peptic ulcers can cause abdominal pain and bleeding, and moderate anemia can result in weakness and fatigue. She should be admitted or closely monitored, treated with appropriate anti-amoebic medication, medication for peptic ulcers, management of the abnormal uterine bleeding, iron supplementation or blood transfusion if indicated, and adequate fluids and nutritional support With early diagnosis, proper treatment, and regular follow-up, Annet has a good prognosis and is expected to recover well.
