Labonno Akter is a 25-year-old primigravida at 37+ weeks of gestation with a single live intrauterine fetus. Ultrasonography (USG) has confirmed that the fetus is in breech presentation. In a breech presentation, the fetus is positioned with the buttocks or feet closest to the birth canal rather than the head. Since the fetus is not in the cephalic (head-down) position, the risk of complications during vaginal delivery is significantly increased, particularly in a first pregnancy.
Background
Labonno Akter is a kind and hopeful 25-year-old woman who is eagerly waiting to welcome her first child and dreams of giving birth to a healthy baby. She lives with her husband, a day laborer whose limited income is barely enough to cover their daily expenses, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of the surgery she urgently needs. Doctors have diagnosed her baby in a breech position, and without timely treatment, both the mother and baby could face serious, potentially life-threatening complications during delivery, including prolonged labor, severe bleeding, birth injury, or loss of life. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Mostafa Kamal, who referred them to Bablu Abdullah for assistance, giving them hope when they had no means to pay for the required treatment. With timely medical care, Labonno and her baby have the best chance of a safe delivery and a healthy future together.
Medical history
Labonno Akter was admitted to the hospital on June 17, 2026 with a diagnosis of Breech presentation. On the same day, she successfully underwent a cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Both mother and newborn remained in good condition and were discharged on June 22, 2026. Upon discharge, Husband and mother-in-law came to the hospital to receive both the mother and the newborn. The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, and Md. Abdullah Miah for their dedicated treatment and continuous support throughout the process. Labonno's husband was especially thankful to Helpster for providing crucial financial assistance during the treatment.
Prognosis
The attending doctor has advised LUCS (Lower Uterine Cesarean Section) as the safest mode of delivery, given that the fetus is in breech presentation at 37+ weeks of gestation. In such cases, cesarean delivery significantly reduces the risks associated with vaginal breech birth, particularly for a primigravida patient. Timely LUCS can help ensure the safe delivery of the baby, minimizing the chances of birth trauma, oxygen deprivation (birth asphyxia), and fetal distress. If left unmanaged and labor progresses naturally, there is a high risk of serious complications. The baby may suffer from trauma, asphyxia, or even death, while the mother may face life-threatening conditions such as severe hemorrhage, uterine rupture, or infection.
