The patient is a 30 weeks and 2 days pregnant woman, gravida 1, who presented with breech presentation, a condition in which the fetus is positioned in the uterus with its bottom or feet pointing downward instead of the usual head-down position. Due to this complication, the fetus may develop fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, and birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury and head entrapment, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.

Background
Mst. Mimi is a calm, pious, and caring 18-year-old pregnant woman who dreams of raising honest and successful children and enjoys sewing clothes in her free time. She lives with her husband and elderly in-laws in fragile living conditions without a permanent home, while her husband struggles to support the family with a very limited income as a day laborer. During her first pregnancy, Mimi developed lower abdominal pain, weakness, and abdominal hardening, causing deep concern for the family when her condition did not improve after treatment at the Upazila Health Complex. Doctors at New Evercare Hospital later diagnosed her with breech presentation and mild anemia, conditions that require close medical monitoring and proper treatment to ensure a safe pregnancy and delivery. Without timely treatment and proper delivery management, serious complications could arise that may become life-threatening for both mother and unborn baby, but the family found hope after learning about Helpster Charity through one of its beneficiaries.
Medical history
Mst. Mimi was admitted to the hospital on 21/05/2026 with a 30-week-and-2-day pregnancy complicated by a breech presentation. She underwent a successful LUCS (Lower Uterine Caesarean Section) on the same day. Following the operation, she received appropriate medical treatment, close monitoring, and dedicated nursing care, which ensured a smooth recovery. Her condition remained stable throughout her hospital stay, and after showing satisfactory improvement, she was discharged in a safe condition on 24/05/2026 with advice for follow-up care.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for mimi is LUCS under SAB, which is the safest option to deliver the baby immediately and prevent further complications. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may suffer from fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, and birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury and head entrapment, while the mother may also face life-threatening infections or complications.
