Suraiya Akter Surovi is a calm and polite 10-year-old girl who loves helping her mother cook and dreams of becoming a doctor one day. She lives with her parents and younger sister Suborna in a fragile home where her father, Sohag Rana, struggles to support the family by working as a day laborer and earning only around 6,000 BDT per month, making it impossible to manage emergency medical expenses. Surovi became seriously ill with persistent fever, vomiting, loose stools, weakness, stomach problems, and loss of appetite, causing deep concern for her parents as her condition worsened day by day.
