Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About emergency care
Acute appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix, usually caused by obstruction or infection. It presents with sudden right lower abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and sometimes mild fever. If untreated, it can lead to appendix rupture, peritonitis, and severe infection. Treatment involves prompt surgical removal of the appendix (appendectomy), along with hydration, pain management, and monitoring.

Background
Iliya is an eighteen(18)-year-old teenager who enjoys playing football with his friends and helping his father in small trades. He is curious about science and often reads about space and technology. Iliya dreams of becoming a surgeon in the future so he can help treat patients in his community. He has generally been healthy, with no chronic illnesses or previous surgeries. Family income is 27,000, uses pit latrine and community borehole. Iliya was referred to UMD from a nearby facility. He was presented with a 3 days history of right illiac fossa pain associated with nausea and vomiting. The pain was sharp, constant, and worsened with movement. He also experienced loss of appetite, dehydration and fatigue. His parents noticed he was irritable, less active, and preferred to lie still. There was no history of diarrhea or urinary symptoms. He had been healthy prior to the onset of symptoms. No known drug allergies or previous surgeries. At UMD, he was seen, evaluated and diagnosed to have Acute appendicitis requiring emergency surgery, pain management and rehydration.
Prognosis
Following clinical assessment and examination, Iliya Sule is currently in the acute stage of the disease process (Appendicitis). But, he is experiencing severe abdominal pain, significant physical distress, weakness, reduced oral intake, and signs of dehydration due to the ongoing illness. Emergency Surgery is the best option to relieve his symptoms and avert potential complications. The prognosis for acute appendicitis is excellent with a near-perfect recovery rate when the inflamed appendix is surgically removed before it ruptures. However, if surgical treatment is delayed and the appendix bursts, the prognosis worsens as the risk of serious complications like peritonitis or widespread infection increases, requiring a longer hospital stay.
