Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

Md Abdullah has been diagnosed with right sided congenital inguinal hernia, a condition present since birth in which abdominal tissue protrudes through weakened muscles in the groin on right sides. This causes visible swelling and pain, especially during coughing, crying, or physical activity, which has increasingly affected his daily life. Without timely surgical treatment, the hernia can become trapped or strangulated, cutting off blood supply and leading to serious, life-threatening complications. Early intervention is essential to relieve his pain, prevent emergencies, and allow him to grow and live a healthy childhood.

Thank you for saving this life!

Background

Md Abdullah is a cheerful and polite 4-year-old boy who loves playing with his friends and dreams of going to school regularly so he can support his family in the future. He lives with his parents and six other family members in a small tin-made house where his father struggles to support the entire family as the only earning member, working as a daily wage laborer with a monthly income of only around 6,000 BDT, leaving no savings for surgery or medical emergencies. Abdullah’s painful swelling in the groin has made it difficult for him to run, play, or move comfortably, and his parents live in constant fear as the swelling becomes more painful during coughing and crying. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through Sadika Rahman and reached out for help because they cannot afford the urgent treatment their child needs. Doctors have warned that without proper surgery and medical care, the hernia may become trapped or blocked, causing severe pain, dangerous complications, and potentially life-threatening conditions requiring emergency surgery.

Medical history

The patient, Md Abdullah was admitted to City Clinic on 13th June 2026. A successful Herniotomy operation was performed the same day. The child progressed well and were discharged on 17th June 2026 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.

Prognosis

Doctors have advised that md Abdullah urgently needs a herniotomy with repair, a surgical procedure that can completely correct his inguinal hernia and save him from further complications. With timely surgery, the pain and swelling will disappear, allowing him to return to school, play freely with friends, and grow up healthy and strong. Doctors are optimistic that after the operation he will recover well and live a normal life without long-term problems. However, if the condition is right untreated, the hernia may become trapped and cut off blood supply to the intestine, leading to severe pain, infection, and internal damage. In such situations, the condition can quickly become life-threatening, making this surgery not only important but potentially life-saving for Abdullah.
