Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections
Pneumonia is an infection of the lung parenchyma causing inflammation and alveolar filling with fluid or pus. Symptoms include fever, cough, chest pain, fast breathing, and difficulty breathing. It may result from bacteria, viruses, or fungi and requires prompt medical evaluation and treatment. Severe malaria is a life-threatening complication of Malaria caused mainly by Plasmodium falciparum. It presents with high fever, severe anemia, convulsions, jaundice, respiratory distress, altered consciousness, or coma. Prompt diagnosis, intravenous antimalarial therapy, fluid management, and supportive care are essential to reduce morbidity and mortality. Otitis Media is an inflammation or infection of the middle ear commonly seen in children. It presents with ear pain, fever, irritability, reduced hearing, and sometimes ear discharge. Causes include bacterial or viral infections following upper respiratory tract infections. Treatment involves analgesics, antibiotics when indicated, and monitoring for complications.

Background
Zuwairiyya is a 1 year old female child who is currently staying with her parents. The parents are finding it difficult to send the remaining children to school due to financial constraints. The father is a petty trader and mother is a house wife. They live in 2 rooms apartment having a pit toilet. They make use of borehole water. They don't have access to electricity. Zuwairiyya is said to have been well and until 3 days ago when she concurrently started having fever, purulent discharge in left ear and cough with runny nose. Later she started passing mucoid watery stool and lost appetite. On examination, a 1-year-old female toddler, febrile (37.8o), tachypneic, anicteric, acyanosed and not pale. Visible subcostal and intercostal recession observed. Congested chest and tachycardia. The family are poor and cannot afford to take her to the hospital. She was diagnosed with Pneumonia, severe malaria and otitis media.
Medical history
Zuwairiyya is said to have been well and until 3 days ago when she concurrently started having fever, purulent discharge in left ear and cough with runny nose. Later she started passing mucoid watery stool and lost appetite. On examination, a 1-year-old female toddler, febrile (37.8o), tachypneic, unicteric, acyanosed and not pale. Visible subcostal and intercostal recession observed. Congested chest and tachycardia. She was diagnosed with Pneumonia, severe malaria and otitis media. Treatment commenced with injection antimalarials, injection antibiotics, IV fluids and other supportive care was administered, she responded well to treatment until stable and discharged. The mother is happy and extend gratitude to Helpster Charity for the medical support.
Prognosis
Severe Malaria has a guarded prognosis. With early diagnosis and prompt intravenous antimalarial treatment, recovery is possible for Zuwairiyya. However, delayed treatment can lead to severe anemia, cerebral malaria, organ failure, or death. Pneumonia prognosis varies depending on age, causative organism, and treatment timing. Zuwairiyya will recover fully with appropriate antibiotics or antivirals, but severe cases can progress to respiratory failure or sepsis, especially in children, elderly, or immunocompromised patients. Otitis Media generally has an excellent prognosis. However, recurrent or untreated infections can lead to complications such as hearing loss, tympanic membrane perforation, or chronic ear disease.
