Md. Shahin Alom is a cheerful and determined 9-year-old boy who lives with his parents, elder sister, and younger brother in a family of five, hoping to return to school and play football without pain. His father is the family's only earning member, working as a van driver with a monthly income of approximately BDT 6,000, which is barely enough to provide food and other basic necessities, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of surgery, hospitalization, medicines, and follow-up care. After learning about Helpster Charity through a health worker at New Evercare Hospital, the family sought assistance in the hope of restoring Shahin's health. Despite exhausting their limited resources, they cannot continue his treatment without financial support. Without timely surgical treatment, his left-sided epididymo-orchitis with hypospadias may progress to severe infection, abscess formation, bloodstream infection (sepsis), permanent damage to the affected testis, urinary obstruction, impaired kidney function, infertility, and other life-threatening complications

Shahin Alom arrived at the hospital with epididymo-orchitis associated with hypospadias and was admitted on 15.05.2026. On the same day, he successfully underwent an epididymectomy and urethroplasty performed by Surgeon Dr. Abdul Awal under the care of Anaesthetist Dr. Mizan. Following the operation, he received proper medical management, continuous monitoring, postoperative care, and attentive nursing care, which helped him recover well. His treatment was successful, and he responded positively without any major complications. He remained in stable condition throughout his hospital stay, and his surgical wound healed satisfactorily. As his condition continued to improve, he was discharged safely on 18.05.2026 with advice for regular follow-up and postoperative care at home.

According to the doctors, timely epididymectomy and urethroplasty under general anesthesia can effectively correct the condition, relieve pain and infection, and help the child achieve normal urinary and reproductive function as he grows. With proper treatment, the child is expected to recover well and live a healthy, active life without long-term complications. However, if the condition is left untreated, ongoing infection and urinary obstruction may severely damage the testicles and urinary system, potentially leading to permanent disability. In severe cases, the infection can spread into the bloodstream, causing life-threatening sepsis. Doctors warn that delaying treatment significantly increases the risk of serious complications, organ failure, and even death.
