Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Nishat Tasnum Ayath is a calm and gentle 3-year-old girl who loves staying close to her family and playing with her baby sister, Nadiba Tasnum Aira. She lives with her parents, grandparents, and younger sister in a small tin-made house with a muddy floor where her father, Shahin Ahmed, struggles to support the six-member family as a day laborer earning only around 5,000 BDT per month, leaving no savings for costly hospital treatment and medicines. Ayath’s severe pneumonia, fever, cough, and breathing difficulty have made her weak and unable to play or sleep comfortably, causing deep fear and anxiety for her parents and grandparents. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema and sought help when Ayath’s condition became serious. Doctors have warned that without urgent treatment and close medical care, the infection in both of her lungs may worsen rapidly, causing dangerously low oxygen levels, severe breathing failure, and potentially life-threatening complications.

Medical history

Nishat Tasnum Ayat was admitted to Seba Hospital on 16 May 2026 due to a serious lung infection. She received treatment under the care for several days and remained under close observation in the hospital. During her stay, she was given medicines and regular care by the doctors and nurses. After her condition gradually improved, she was discharged on 22 May 2026 with medical advice. At the time of discharge, the patient’s family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Ema and the Seba Hospital team

Prognosis

According to the doctors, Nisat Tasnum Ayat urgently needs hospitalization, antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and other supportive treatment to control the severe lung infection and improve her breathing. With timely treatment and close medical monitoring, her fever, cough, weakness, and breathing difficulty are expected to improve gradually, helping her recover and return to a healthier childhood. Doctors are carefully observing her condition to prevent the infection from spreading further and damaging her lungs. However, if she does not receive proper treatment on time, the severe pneumonia may worsen rapidly, causing dangerously low oxygen levels, severe breathing failure, serious infection throughout the body, and potentially life-threatening complications.
