About pregnancy
Kohinur Begum has been diagnosed with a transverse lie at 31+ weeks of pregnancy, a condition in which the baby lies sideways across the uterus instead of in the normal head-down position. This abnormal fetal position prevents a safe vaginal delivery and significantly increases the risk of complications during labor. Because of the baby's position, the pregnancy is considered high-risk, and a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) has been recommended as the safest method of delivery to protect both the mother and her unborn baby.

Background
Kohinur Begum is a kind and hardworking 22-year-old woman who is eagerly waiting to welcome her second child and dreams of raising both of her children in a safe and loving home. She lives with her husband, their young daughter, and her elderly parents-in-law, while her husband is the family's only earning member, working as a day laborer and earning only BDT 6,000 per month, making it impossible to afford the cost of a lifesaving Caesarean section. At 31+ weeks of pregnancy, doctors found that her baby is in a transverse lie (sideways position), making a normal delivery unsafe and requiring an urgent LUCS to protect both mother and baby. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Sadika Rahman, giving them hope during this difficult time. Without timely surgery, Kohinur and her unborn baby face a high risk of obstructed labor, uterine rupture, severe bleeding, fetal distress, stillbirth, and other life-threatening complications that could endanger both of their lives.
Medical history
The patient,kohinur Begum was admitted to City Clinic on 30th June 2026. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy 2.8 kg male baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 04th July 2026 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment
Prognosis
The treating doctor has advised an urgent Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) because the baby is in a transverse lie, making a normal vaginal delivery unsafe. With timely surgery, the baby can be delivered safely, greatly reducing the risk of complications and improving the chances of a full recovery for both the mother and her newborn. After appropriate postoperative care and regular follow-up, the mother is expected to recover well and continue caring for her family. If LUCS is not performed in time, the mother and baby face a high risk of obstructed labor, uterine rupture, severe bleeding, umbilical cord prolapse, fetal distress, stillbirth, and other life-threatening complications that could endanger both of their lives.
