Abu Raihan is a 2-month-old boy who has been diagnosed with typhoid fever, a serious bacterial infection that can cause prolonged fever, weakness, and other complications if not treated properly. He had been suffering from persistent fever, cough, and breathing difficulties, which gradually affected his overall health and well-being. Due to his very young age and history of premature birth with low birth weight, he is particularly vulnerable to severe illness and complications. Without timely medical treatment and close monitoring, the infection could worsen and become life-threatening, making urgent medical care essential for his recovery.

Background
Abu Raihan is a fragile 2-month-old baby who was born prematurely with a low birth weight and depends entirely on the care of his parents. His father works as a day laborer and struggles to provide even the family's basic necessities, making the cost of hospital treatment and medicines far beyond their reach. When Abu Raihan developed persistent fever, cough, and breathing difficulties, doctors later diagnosed him with typhoid fever, a serious infection that can be especially dangerous for such a young infant. Without proper treatment, the infection could spread throughout his body, leading to severe complications, organ damage, and even loss of life. After learning about Helpster Charity through Pallab Kumar Sarker and receiving guidance from Volunteer Bablu Abdullah, the family found hope that Abu Raihan could receive the urgent medical care he desperately needs.
Medical history
Abu Raihan was admitted to the hospital on May 23, 2026, with a high fever, cough, and breathlessness. Following a thorough medical evaluation, he was diagnosed with typhoid fever. After receiving six days of treatment, his condition improved significantly, and he was discharged on May 29, 2026, in good health. Both his mother and father accompanied his throughout the hospital stay and were present at the time of discharge. His mother expressed sincere gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, and Md. Abdullah Miah for their dedicated care and support. His father was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster, which played a crucial role in ensuring timely and appropriate medical treatment.
Prognosis
Doctors expect Abu Raihan's condition to improve with hospitalization, parenteral antibiotic therapy, and supportive treatment. The treatment will help control the infection, reduce his fever, improve his feeding and activity, and support his overall recovery. Because he is a premature infant with a low birth weight, close medical monitoring is essential to ensure that he responds well to treatment. If left untreated, the infection could spread throughout his body, leading to severe illness, organ damage, and other life-threatening complications. Timely treatment and continued medical care are therefore critical to protect his life and support healthy growth and development.
