Findaus is a 12-year-old girl living with a physical disability and using a wheelchair. She stays with her grandmother and six siblings in a rural setting. Despite her condition and difficult living circumstances, she is cheerful, respectful, hardworking, and highly determined. She enjoys singing, storytelling, reading, and spending time with her siblings. She also participates in school activities when possible and remains focused on her education. Findaus dreams of becoming a doctor or teacher to support children with disabilities and help vulnerable families in her community. She lives in a three-room mud house with a separate kitchen. The family uses a pit latrine and fetches water from a nearby stream about 40 minutes away. Her grandmother is the sole breadwinner, earning about KSh 1,500 monthly from selling bananas, making it difficult to meet basic needs. Findaus was brought to the health facility with vomiting, headache, convulsions, poor feeding, and high fever. Her condition was alarming, especially given her underlying disability and the family’s financial hardship. While at the facility, the grandmother was informed about Helpster Charity by the hospital gateman and directed to seek assistance. She was enrolled, assessed by clinicians, and admitted for close monitoring and treatment due to the severity of her condition.

During her 4-day admission, she received intensive medical care including antibiotics to treat the infection, medications to control fever and convulsions, intravenous fluids, and nutritional support. She was closely monitored by healthcare providers to ensure her condition stabilized and improved steadily. Following treatment, Findaus responded well and gradually recovered, with the fever subsiding, feeding improving, and convulsions stopping. She regained her strength and was discharged in stable condition. Her grandmother expressed heartfelt appreciation to Helpster Charity Organization and Al IHSAAN for their financial and emotional support during the difficult period, as their assistance helped Findaus receive timely treatment and recover successfully.
