Jannat Akter is a 4-year-old girl who has struggled since birth with a cleft lip and cleft palate, making it difficult for her to eat, speak, and interact with other children. She lives with her parents and younger sister, and although her father works hard as a farmer on other people's land, his limited income is barely enough to support the family's daily needs, making the cost of surgery impossible to afford. Despite her challenges, Jannat is a cheerful and innocent child who dreams of living like other children and enjoying a healthy childhood. Her parents are deeply worried as her condition continues to affect her nutrition, speech development, and confidence. Without timely surgical treatment, she may continue to suffer from feeding difficulties, delayed speech, recurrent infections, dental problems, and social challenges that could affect her development and future quality of life. On 11/05/2026, a girl named Jannat Akter came to Modern Hospital Pvt. Ltd. with cleft lip and cleft palate problems. We immediately referred her to a pediatric surgery specialist. After examining Jannat Akter, the doctor recommended several medical tests, and we ensured that all the tests were completed. The doctor reviewed all the test reports and decided that surgery was necessary. On the same day, 11/05/2026, the surgery was successfully performed. Jannat Akter’s operation was completed smoothly and successfully. After the surgery, she was kept under post-operative observation for some time before being transferred to a cabin. Under the proper guidance of the doctors and the regular follow-up care of the nurses, Jannat Akter is now feeling much better and recovering well. Today, on 14/05/2026, she was discharged from Modern Hospital Pvt. Ltd. in good health and returned home.Seeing Jannat Akter’s recovery, her family is now very happy. According to the treating doctors, Cheiloplasty (surgical repair of the cleft lip under general anesthesia) is essential to improve Jannat’s ability to feed properly, support normal speech development, enhance facial appearance, and improve her overall quality of life. Successful surgery will help her grow healthier, communicate more effectively, and participate confidently in school and social activities. If left untreated, she may continue to suffer from feeding difficulties, poor nutrition, delayed speech, recurrent ear and dental problems, and significant social and emotional challenges. In severe cases, chronic feeding problems and poor nutritional intake can lead to malnutrition, recurrent infections, poor growth, and increased vulnerability to serious illnesses.
