About pregnancy
The patient is a 30 weeks and 3 days pregnant woman, gravida 2 para 1, who presented with breech presentation, a condition in which the fetus is positioned in the uterus with its buttocks or feet pointing downward instead of the usual head-down position. Due to this complication, the fetus is at risk of fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury, and head entrapment, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.

Background
Mst. Rikta Banu is a gentle and hardworking mother who dreams of safely welcoming her second child and giving both of her children a better future. She lives with her husband, Mahfujar Rahman, and their 3-year-old son, Jisan Hossain, in a fragile mud-made house, where the family depends entirely on her husband's small monthly income of only 6,000 BDT, making the cost of hospital treatment impossible to afford. Despite seeking care at the Upazila Health Complex, her condition did not improve, and doctors at New Evercare Hospital later diagnosed her baby with a breech presentation, requiring close monitoring and possible emergency intervention. Without timely treatment, both Rikta and her unborn baby could face life-threatening complications, including obstructed labor, severe bleeding, and the loss of the baby. After learning about Helpster Charity through a medical staff member at New Evercare Hospital and Diagnostics, the family is now seeking support to ensure a safe delivery for both mother and child.
Medical history
Rikta Banu arrived at the hospital at 30 weeks of pregnancy with a breech presentation and was admitted on 09.07.2026. On the same day, she underwent a successful LUCS under spinal anesthesia, performed by Gynae Surgeon Dr. Nahid Akter and Anaesthetist Dr. Anik. The operation was completed successfully, and both the mother and baby remained safe throughout the procedure. Following the surgery, she received comprehensive medical management, continuous monitoring, postoperative treatment, pain management, and attentive nursing care, all of which contributed to a smooth recovery. She responded well to the treatment without any major complications, gradually regained her strength, and both she and her baby remained in stable condition during their hospital stay. After showing satisfactory postoperative recovery, she was discharged safely on 12.07.2026 with advice for regular follow-up, proper nutrition, adequate rest, and continued newborn care.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for Rikta is LUCS under SAB, which is the safest option to deliver the baby immediately and prevent further complications. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may suffer from fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, and birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury and head entrapment, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both the mother and the baby.
